First Nations Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we are on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy as determined by the Dish with One Spoon treaty. The intent of this agreement is for all nations sharing this territory to do so responsibly, respectfully and for the faces yet to come. We respect the longstanding relationships with the local Indigenous communities, the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We have a shared responsibility for the stewardship of these lands and waters on which we live, work and play.
The Brant Waterways Foundation offers grants to support projects that protect, enhance, or promote the Grand River, local trails, and surrounding natural areas. Funding is available to registered charities, non-profits, municipalities, and Indigenous communities. Applications are accepted twice a year for projects that align with the Foundation’s conservation and community goals.
The Brant Waterways Foundation hosts community events like its Annual Gala to support and celebrate the conservation and enjoyment of local rivers, trails, and natural spaces.
Donations directly support our trails and waterways! Your gift will be used to improve waterways and the quality of life for all within the historical boundary of Brant County.
