DESCRIPTION:Brant Waterways Foundation is proud to be hosting “Bridging Knowledge & Nature: A Speaker Series.”\nThis engaging evening will showcase three local guest speakers and will take place at the perfect location, River’s Edge at the Arlington, on Thursday, March 6th, starting at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30o pm). Our speaker series event will offer an exciting opportunity to learn more about the environmental challenges and opportunities in our region while encouraging stewardship and a shared sense of responsibility for our natural resources.\nOur guest speakers include;\nGail Whitlow ~ Holistic Native & Traditional Healing Services\nFounder of Ancestral Voices Healing Centre, located on the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.  The centre offers Holistic and Native Traditional Healing Services and a wide selection of herbal medicine and healing crystals, Land of the Dancing Deer co- Founder of Grandmothers Voice and Grandmothers the Earth.  In this inspiring session, Gail will share her deep wisdom about the cultural and ecological importance of healing through land-based programs. Discover how fostering a deeper connection with the land can create a space for holistic healing—encompassing body, mind, and spirit.   This is a unique opportunity to explore learn more about Indigenous perspectives on wellness, sustainability, and the transformative power of nature.\nJeff Leader ~ Turtle Conservation\nLet’s learn about turtle conservation in Ontario.  We’ll start with a 15-min CBC short documentary of the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre highlighting the turtle conservation work they are doing in Ontario.  Followed-by Jeff Leader, as he gives an overview of turtle stewardship work in the communities of Brantford-Brant.  Jeff Leader is the founder of Brant For Turtles and is involved with many groups in the community and works in environmental consulting.\nWild Ontario ~ Birds of the Grand River Valley \nJoin us for a captivating event featuring representatives from Wild Ontario! Learn about the fascinating world of local bird species through an engaging and informative talk by representatives from Wild Ontario!
