2011 Run/Walk for the River and Trails

On September 25th, almost a hundred runners came out on a beautiful day to participate in our 3rd Annual Run/Walk for the River and Trails.  It was a great day, well organized, weather was unbelievable, runners/walkers were enthusiastic, competitive, and most of all, everyone had fun.

We would like to say thank you to all of the participants, sponsors, volunteers, organizers, for making this a day to remember.  Let’s hope that everyone tells their friends, running mates, anyone who loves our trails, to come out and sign up for the 4th Annual Run/Walk for the River and Trails, Sunday September 23, 2012.    Look for the signs, Facebook updates, Twitter updates in the coming months.

If you can walk, you can snowshoe! It's not surprising that snowshoeing has been gaining in popularity in Ontario. It takes minimal equipment, it's easy to learn for the whole family and it delivers an incredible physical workout. http://www.ontariotrails.on.ca/trails/activity/snowshoeing-backcountry Whether you're looking for an easy stroll through the woods or a full out sprint up a hill, Ontario has hundreds of trails, parks and conservation areas that are perfect for snowshoeing. On a pair of snowshoes you can walk over even the deepest snow, head into the back country, go camping and just get away to recharge yourself. It's just you and the soft crunch of the snow under your shoes. Photo courtesy of ontariotravelblog.
