Municipalities of Brant, Brantford, Six Nations Territory and New Credit Territory, Conservation Authorities and incorporated non-profits located within the historical boundary of Brant County - are eligible to make applications for funding assistance. Funding requests from organizations aside from the previously defined groups may apply for consideration on an individual basis. Only applications involving projects on publicly owned lands or Six Nations lands shall be eligible.
THREE CATEGORIES OF GRANTING
1.and 2. Small and Large grants – these are funded directly by the Foundation.
3. Grants applied for by Brant Waterways and received from other funders. This is where the Foundation acts as a ‘flow-through’ or ‘sponsoring’ agency.
We suggest that you contact the office to discuss your project and the amount you will be requesting prior to completing the application.
1. Small Grants Program: Brant Waterways Foundation aims to provide an annual budget of $40,000 for the purpose of funding projects up to $10,000 per quarter.
When to apply
Applications must be submitted to the Foundation on a quarterly basis: March 1st, June 1st, September 1st, and December 1st
2. Large Grants Program: From time to time Brant Waterways Foundation will undertake to participate in larger projects requiring major grants which exceed the $10,000 threshold of the Small Grants Program.

3. ‘Flow-through’ or ‘Sponsoring’ Agency Service – Brant Waterways may support community projects by writing proposals to other funders, administering the funds, and by completing reporting requirements on behalf of community groups.
